Design evolution

From the fast-paced world of print to the cutting-edge landscape of digital media, my 15-year journey at News Corp Australia was a masterclass in adaptability, creativity, and innovation.

I started as a graphic designer for The Daily Telegraph, crafting compelling editorial graphics, before stepping into the digital realm—where I helped shape the future of news design. As technology advanced, so did my role, being the first print designer to transition to the Daily Telegraphs first website. I managed a 7 week roster of designers, led major digital transformations, and creating high-impact commercial campaigns for top-tier brands.

With experience spanning breaking news, interactive storytelling, digital product strategy, and commercial partnerships, I thrived in the intersection of design, journalism, commercial and marketing. Here’s a look at my career progression at one of Australia’s largest media companies:

• Designed responsive digital experiences for premium native article campaigns, presale mocks, and marketing products.

• Worked on high-profile joint-sponsored campaigns for clients such as Medibank, Nissan, Industry Superfund, CGU, MLC, JB Hi-Fi, Lavazza, Destination NSW, Australia Post, and Coles.

• Collaborated with cross-functional teams, including product, development, commercial integration, marketing, project management, and content production.

National Network News Digital Designer (Oct 2012 – Aug 2017 | 4 yrs 11 mos)

• Led the design of responsive digital content for major breaking news coverage, long-form storytelling, and interactive sponsored content.

• Created digital assets across all mastheads, including The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun, Courier Mail, and The Advertiser.

• Covered major world events including budget lockups.


Digital Design Studio Manager – The Daily Telegraph Online (Oct 2008 – Oct 2012 | 4 yrs 1 mo)

• Managed an 8-member digital editorial design team, overseeing scheduling and workflow for a 7-day operation.

• Developed and maintained a style guide for digital design consistency.

• Contributed to strategic transformation initiatives with the product team during ongoing site development.
